THEIYA IN THE COMMUNITY

'Theiya in the Community' is our programme strand that brings South Asian Arts, South Asian Arts-inspired sensory movement sessions, and wellbeing activities to targeted demographics, delivered in collaboration with our partners. We work with participants of various ages, abilities, and backgrounds, in particular children and young people with chronic or life-limiting illness, people with additional support needs, older people, and carers.

We have a weekly programme of accessible and inclusive dance classes, creative activities, and wellbeing sessions. We deliver these in a variety of settings in Edinburgh and West Lothian, as well as online.

Since the start of the first lockdown in March 2020, we have been offering free weekly meditation sessions. We began this as a way to support people when we went into lockdown. We could never have imagined that almost five years on we would still be happily running these sessions. They have become a core part of our Wellbeing offerings.

Another legacy of the move online during lockdown is our weekly online yoga classes.

All online sessions are open to new participants. Get in touch with us to find out more.

Much of the work we are able to do in the community is thanks to other organisations who trust us to deliver successful programmes in the community. If you are interested in what we do and wish to partner with us, there is always space for growth and new challenges.
